Scribus 1.4.8 for Windows

A new window will open and the download starts automatically:

Scribus 1.4.8 for Linux

In most distributions, Scribus 1.4.8 can be obtained from the official repositories and is named "scribus".

Packages are are known to exist for:

• Debian, Ubuntu (.deb)
• CentOS, Fedora, RedHat Enterprise Linux, SUSE and OpenSUSE (.rpm:)
• Gentoo
• FreeBSD, OpenBSD, NetBSD

If you want to also get the documentation, you will probably need to activate the "Non Free" Repository and look for the "scribus-doc" package.

Some "bleeding edge" distribution only package the development version. If you don't feel comfortable with using it, you need to compile Scribus.

Cutting Edge Development Version

Use unstable versions only for testing and NOT in production mode.
Unstable developer snapshots can corrupt files of stable versions and can make them unusable.

In some distributions, Scribus 1.5.6.1 is packaged as "scribus" and there is no stable version:

• Arch.

Nightly Development Versions

We provide nightly snapshots that are based on the current code.

Most of the time, development snapshots are of high quality and older features shold be as robust as in the stable version: but be careful when using new features!
