Wc3 dota map file download - apologise
So I downloaded the lastest DotA map.
I think it was 6.56 A1 +1.52 Rev 02. I followed my friend's instructions (Since I couldn't find any online) and I took the file from the desktop and dragged it to my Frozen Throne Maps. (Start > My Computer > C: > Program Files > Warcraft III > Maps > Frozen Throne) As I started my TFT game and chose the DotA map..
Nothing showed up. Not even the players or the teams or my user name. Nothing. The other maps work fine (The one's that are in TFT anyway [Regular Warcraft III]) I tried downloading other maps and it's the exact same thing.
This is my first time to try and install DotA so I have never encountered this before. 6.56 AI was also the first map that I downloaded so..
Any input would be awesome. Have any of you guys ever encountered this problem before? Any tips on what I could do?
Thanks in advance.

I thought you needed to put downloaded maps in the download map, not the TFT map.
in the map "maps" inside TFT that is.

Where would the "Downloaded Maps" be? I didn't really get the last thing you said.

Every downloaded map should be in C>Program Files>Warcraft 3>Maps>Download.
So yeah basically make a folder in Maps called Download and put DotA in there.

@ Cyrus:
So all I need to do is basically make a new folder called downloads and put my maps there? Seems easy enough.
@ Randommm:
Yeah, actually. Exact same problem I have.

new folder thing didn't work for me
That means the map file has syntax errors somewhere in the JASS code, or is generally corrupted.
Sounds like one of the hosting mirrors had some kind of error and is giving out broken copies or something.

^ its not that. it works on my friend's. and we just transferred by USB, not downloading.
Hmm. I guess it could have been corrupted by your USB drive, but that seems unlikely. I'd still suggest diffing them.
Do you both use the same OS? Do you have the latest patches?
