Manually downloading files into ffxiv textools

Sup! I got a few questions about the Constellation Top mod that’s been appearing throughout Tumblr so I’ve decided to condense all these questions in my ask box into jam it all into one post.

First off, you’ll need to install FFXIV TexTools. This is the program you’ll need to import any ModPacks* (mods). You can also use this to diddle with any of the models and/or make your own mods but I’m too lazy for that kind of shit, sooooo *fart noises*.

Note: TexTools will prompt you if there is a newer version available. As to whether the update will mess with your mods afterwards, I’m not sure yet. 

Once you download TexTools and begin the installation, you’ll need to follow any prompts that the program instructs after you open the .rar file. If you play FFXIV on a separate hard drive, you’ll need to manually direct to your FFXIV files. 

FFXIV Nexus Mods (Warning: 18+) and PrettyKitty Emporium (Warning: 18+)  These are the two sites where you can find that mod creators have shared for public use. You can also join the FFXIV TexTools Discord as some of the modders also post their creations on their server.

If you’re wanting the Constellation Top, you’ll want to get it from here. A majority of the mods come in .ttmp format, which is what you’ll need in order to import through with TexTools.

Note: I made a separate folder for all my mods to pour into. The location of where you download the (.ttmp) mod doesn’t matter as long as you know where it’s at.

Once you found the mod(s) you want for your character, you’ll want to open the FFXIV TexTools program. It should look like this:

Go to Mods in the top-left corner. Find Import ModPack.After that, you’ll need to find the (.ttmp) mod file. 

Once you find the file, you’ll click on it and it’ll bring up the TexTools Importer.    

And as long as you didn’t break something in the process, you should get this.

And there you have it, the mods installed! All you need to do afterwards is open up your client and see if it works! Keep in mind that some mods have special instructions to working.

Note: There are some mods out there that will not work with DirectX 9. Some mods will require running with DirectX11.

SO ABOUT THIS CONSTELLATION TOP.

If you’ve opened up your client after installing the Summer Breeze Constellation Top mod, there’s a 99% chance you’re going to see this:

Note: I am using the Anemos Constellation Top from Eureka. If you don’t have this top, you’re missing out.

Open up your TexTools. You’re gonna to want to search for the Anemos Constellation Top in the search bar. 

You’re gonna see a bunch of garbage on your screen, but don’t get scared yet! I promise it’ll all be over soon.

On the far right corner, you’ll find that the the Translucency is set to OFF. Click on that button and switch it to ON for the mod to work.

And that’s it! The Summer Breeze Constellation Top should appear properly on your client!
