The reason Google Drive won't download files and documents is because there's an error within the file storage and because of this error. Never had problem with downloading files via Firefox from Google Drive until now instead of file download I get tab page with following url: https://doc-04-c8-. Try logging out of all other users in your web browser or use Incognito Mode if your browser has it (which has the effect of doing this). Kudos to Ahmad for saving.
